Activated Sludge Bioreactor Plus
MAK Water’s Activated Sludge Bioreactor Plus (ASBR+) type packaged sewage treatment plants are designed to treat domestic strength sewage, to achieve “Class C” treated effluent, plus enhanced nutrient removal, suitable for reuse in “risk category low” applications or for discharge to environment. With the optional “Class A” upgrade, treated effluent suitable for reuse in “risk category medium” applications is achieved.
The standard treatment process includes influent screening, balance tank mixing, anoxic & aerobic treatment for nitrification and denitrification, clarification, effluent sterilization (chlorine tablets) and bag filtration (100 micron). The optional “Class A” upgrade includes an auto-backwashing filter (25 micron), secondary chlorination via tank recirculation and residual trim hypochlorite dosing, and analyzers for online monitoring of treated effluent turbidity, free chlorine and pH.
MAK Water’s ASBR+ Bioreactors are corrosion resistant , and are self-contained, modular systems for easy deployment to remote locations.

Sewage Treatment Hire Plant for Prison Farm
A rural prison farm located south of Perth, Western Australia was undergoing a major upgrade of the existing sewage treatment plant and required additional temporary treatment capacity. The equipment needed to be onsite and operational as soon as possible. MAK Water operates an extensive hire fleet and had a suitable sewage treatment plant in stock that was able to be quickly mobilised to site. MAK Water was able to deliver the plant within three weeks and provide installation with integration of existing equipment on site.
Serpentine, Queensland

A large fertiliser processing company was planning a major shutdown and needed a temporary sewage treatment plant to account for the increase of manpower required on site. The number of people during the shutdown was double the normal occupancy and trucking the excess sewage off site was not a practical option. MAK Water was engaged to deliver a modular Activated Sludge Bioreactor (ASBR) to treat 150 m3/day of domestic strength sewage to Class C.

A remote natural gas, condensate and oil processing facility in north-west Western Australia had an ageing sewage treatment plant (STP) requiring replacement, the operator contacted MAK Water. We took our client through a thorough engineering design process where we had to account for the challenges of the extreme remote location, 20-year design life in a cyclone-prone, corrosive marine environment (AS4312, Category 5), and compliance with our client’s exacting engineering standards and specifications MAK Water manufactured, commissioned and continues to visit the sewage treatment plant monthly to keep the plant operating optimally.
